FLASHBACK

“Memory does not make films, it makes photographs” says Milan Kundera. These images represent fragments of experiences, that are kept in our mind and through which we narrate our past and bring it to the present. In turn these images generate images of a future memory that other looks will use to build their own narrative.

Flashback is a part of the “Factum” project; where I work on the subject of time and memory.  Some images are taken from family albums and others are current pictures, developed with an alternative technique, the cyanotype, which allows me to create a mix of past and present times where the temporality of images blurs and produces this eternal present that catalyzes the past and the future. The present demystifies since temporality is homologized.
